In a surprising move that has caught the attention of thousands of candidates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially removed one question from the Life Sciences (703) paper of the CSIR-UGC NET June 2025 exam.
According to the final answer key released on the official website (csirnet.nta.ac.in), Question ID ‘835594736’ has been dropped.
This means that every candidate — whether they attempted this question or not — will be awarded full marks for it.
Why this matters for you
Candidates who skipped or were unsure about this particular question will still get full marks.
This change could significantly boost your score and even improve your All-India Rank.
For some candidates, this could be the deciding factor for qualifying JRF, Assistant Professor, or PhD admission.
How could this impact your result?
| Area | Possible Impact |
|---|---|
| Overall Score | One additional question now counted as full marks |
| Cut-off & Rank | Higher scores may lead to slightly increased cut-offs and improved ranks |
| Final Result | Result likely to be more favorable for Life Sciences candidates |
What should you do now?
